Syllabus:
The challenges facing human resource and industrial relations professionals have never been greater nor required the knowledge, insight and creativity necessary to properly perform these positions today. This seminar will cover at high speed the myriad sources of exposure to legal liability and other productivity threats which inhere from the very outset to the very end, and in all facets of the employment relationship.
The faculty team is comprised of both litigative and consultant specialists in labor and employment law from Parker, Milliken, Clark, O'Hara & Samuelian in Los Angeles, together with David Kussin an attorney from the firm of Mukai & Kussin, LLP, who concentrates on immigration and nationality law servicing the needs of international and domestic businesses, and Ronald Crowell, M.D. a specialist on workers' compensation medicine.
The course materials will detail mine-field avoidance steps throughout the spectrum of human resources/industrial relations job responsibilities. The course format will include review of the latest state and federal case law developments in this area, as well as problem-solving discussions concerning and providing perspectives on real-life problems and puzzles such as you likely confront on the job.
