Training Course Syllabus:

Infection Control and OSHA 2010 Compliance for Dental Offices by Renee Russell

PROGRAM DETAILS

Infection Control, OSHA and Your Dental Practice

Dental patients and dental health care workers can be exposed to pathogenic microorganisms including cytomegalovirus, HBV, HCV, herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, HIV, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, staphylococci, streptococci, and other viruses and bacteria that colonize or infect the oral cavity and respiratory tract. Even one incident involving unsafe or unsanitary conditions in your office can harm morale and patient loyalty. Avoid recalling your patients for Hepatitis and HIV testing due to a breakdown in your infection control. Understanding and implementing effective infection control procedures protects your employees, your patients and your good reputation.

This timely and instructive seminar, taught by Olivia Wann and Renee Russell, will guide your staff to comply with OSHA and the latest infection control guidelines as published by the Centers for Disease Control. They will provide the knowledge that your staff needs to provide the most up-to-date safeguards to your dental practice. The enthusiastic presentation by Ms. Wann and Ms. Russell will be a welcome way to understand the requirements of good infection control practices and Federal OSHA requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• OSHA's required annual bloodborne pathogens training
• Latest CDC Infection Control Guidelines
• Preventing disease transmission in patients, employees and providers
• Implement a quality control system
• HazCom training
• Labeling and signage requirements

• Federal OSHA training with compliance documents provided
• Guidelines to prevent HIV, HBV, HCV, TB and other infectious diseases communicable in a dental practice
• Latest CDC recommendations and OSHA regulations
