PROGRAM DETAILS
With the nation's population growing older each year, the home medical equipment market is projecting a 14 percent annual growth. However, DME providers are being tested and challenged every day with cuts in reimbursement, increased program compliance, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), a looming national competitive bidding environment, mandatory accreditation, changes to the Power Mobility Device (PMD) benefit, increased pre/post payment audits and new guidelines requiring more detailed documentation.
The HME
provider's challenge is to provide low-cost, high-quality services while maintaining compliance with all government, state and corporate regulations. In this comprehensive program you will learn strategies for responding to the constant changes in HME/DME reimbursement, how to avoid simple (but costly) mistakes in billing and techniques for improving cost efficiency, productivity, collections and profitability.
Participants will receive in-depth information on the latest changes affecting the home medical equipment industry along with hands-on instruction of the entire reimbursement process from patient intake and insurance verification through claim processing, accounts receivable management and denial response. The instructor will share billing techniques acquired from more than 26 years in the industry along with a proven method of managing your Accounts Receivable which will result in a dramatic decrease in your Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). Each seminar will include the very latest changes to Medicare Part B reimbursement guidelines along with strategies to react to them while maintaining a viable and profitable DME
company. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
What You Should Bring: Participants may bring a current supplier manual to the program, if desired; however, it is not a prerequisite for the seminar.
