From beginning to end, this workshop will provide you with information that you can use when you care for patients with pressure ulcers and wounds on the lower extremities (arterial, venous and diabetic). You will learn how wound care products work so that you can make appropriate choices. You will understand how to look for and alter causative factors that delay wound healing. You will learn how to deliver excellent care in a cost-effective manner. ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Beth Hawkins-Bradley, RN, MN, CWOCN, has been a certified wound, ostomy, continence (WOC) nurse since 1990. She has clinical experience in a variety of care settings including acute care, long-term care and outpatient rehabilitation. She currently operates Care on Call, a WOC consulting firm that provides clinical, education, legal consulting and contract case management services in the Columbia, South Carolina area. Her passion is making excellent wound ostomy and continence care simple and logical for every clinician.
In addition to her busy clinical practice, Beth has made several professional contributions. She has served as a Director on the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurses Certification Board and has also served two terms on the Southeast Region Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurses Society. She has published clinical articles in the Journal of the WOC, Advances in Wound Care, Advances in Long Term Care, and other periodicals. She has served on policy development committees for her state board of nursing as well as the WOCN Society. She is a popular speaker and educator within her specialty around the U.S.
