Health Environment
PROGRAM DETAILS
Working in a home health setting can be extremely rewarding for therapists,
but difficult when resources and access to equipment are limited. As a health
care practitioner, you need to be an advocate for your patients and their
families. This involves having a basic understanding of the health care system,
along with knowledge of resources that are available to your patients. In
addition, it is important to emphasize the need of developing a comprehensive
plan of care for your patients. Treatment goals should be individualized to
capture the identified needs of patients and their caregivers. Compliance is
most often achieved when the patient is an active participant in the development
of the plan of care.
The purpose of this educational session is to provide participants with an
understanding of reimbursement, how to facilitate an interdisciplinary approach
to care and how to utilize cost-effective treatment strategies and approaches in
the home health environment. This course will also provide instruction in the
development of documentation skills to minimize the risk of third party payor
denials. This workshop is highly recommended for therapists, home health
administrators, assisted living administrators, nurses, social workers, intake
coordinators and anyone who desires to improve their understanding of the role
of rehabilitation in the home health setting.
