Training Course Syllabus:

CCIE®

The CCIE® program was introduced by Cisco® in 1993 as an expert level certification to help organizations identify the highly skilled technical engineers in the internetworking industry. Today, the CCIE® program sets the professional benchmark for internetworking expertise. The CCIE® is often regarded as the doctorate of networking and certification. The benefits of obtaining CCIE® status are many and varied depending on an individual\'s situation and circumstances. CCIE® certification has become synonymous with professional expertise in internetworking, and is considered of much greater value than all other available certifications in this industry. The most popular benefits include:

  • Objective and incontrovertible measurement of actual technical prowess
  • Industry and worldwide recognition as being a member of the most elite corps of internetworking professionals
  • Compensation of CCIE® certification holders is among the highest in the Networking Community
  • Privileged Access to advanced electronic tools reserved exclusively for CCIE® certification holders on cisco.com
  • Privileged Technical Support Privileged access to TAC with a valid support agreement. TAC cases tagged as originated by CCIE® certification holders in order to provide appropriate response level
  • Preferred status given to Cisco®: partners based on the number of CCIE® certification holders they employ
  • Advanced training opportunities designed exclusively for CCIE® certification holders as part of the CCIE® certification holders continuing education and recertification process

CCIE® is the highest level of achievement in Cisco® training and the next logical step for CCNP®. certification holders Individuals seeking CCIE® Routing and Switching certification should be able to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot complex routed LAN, routed WAN, switched LAN and ATM LAN networks and Dial Access services. They will diagnose and resolve network faults, use packet/frame analysis and Cisco debugging tools, and document and report the problem-solving processes used. These individuals will have substantial expertise as senior-level technical staff. There are 2 steps to the CCIE® certification:
  1. Candidates must first pass a qualification exam. This exam is a two-hour multiple choice computerized exam consisting of 100 questions. The exam is graded Pass or Fail. Exams can be taken at any Cisco® authorized testing center, of which MicroTrain is one.
  2. The second step is to complete the one-day, hands-on lab offered at selected Cisco locations. The North American locations are San Jose, California, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Preparation for the CCIE® will consist of 40 hours of Instructor led labs and lectures. Students will work on Scenarios prepared specifically to mimic the ones candidates may receive on the exam or in the two-day lab. Students will be given an additional 40 hours of individual access to the MicroTrain CCIE® Rack which consists of the same equipment* seen in the Cisco® Lab Rooms. During this scheduled lab time students will be given over two- dozen scenarios on which to practice and complete. Students will also have access to Q and A with their instructor during this time.
