In this new age of technology, the ongoing threat of leisure hackers and denial of service attacks on corporations (without adequate provisioning for security) has grown tremendously. This has become particularly an issue as a result of the Internet becoming such a mainstream presence in B2B commerce. Having an Internet presence raises a corporations risk tenfold by opening a portal to uninvited guests.
With 2001 being marked as the worst year for security related incidents, the need for qualified security specialists has grown tremendously. Corporations worldwide are requiring at the minimum some hands-on knowledge with at least one of the two major players in the security arena (Cisco and Checkpoint).
This hands-on security course is geared towards administrators/engineers who want to be able to not only install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls, but also be able to make informed IT decisions with respect to network security.
Prerequisites for this course are basic networking fundamentals, IP addressing fundamentals, OSI reference model knowledge and basic Windows 2000 networking configuration.
